Anthropic launches Claude Dashboards and Claude Motion in beta to create data dashboards and animations

Anthropic is rolling out Dashboards in beta, a Claude feature that builds live dashboards on data from BigQuery, Snowflake or Salesforce from questions asked in everyday words. Motion, limited for now to Team and Enterprise, makes animations out of code that can be tweaked and saved as MP4, with no video model involved. Docs, Slides and Design leave the testing phase and reach every plan, Free included.

Claude can now build data dashboards and animations, for now in beta.

Anthropic on Thursday launched Claude Dashboards, in beta on paid plans. It connects to data platforms such as BigQuery, Databricks or Snowflake (the list also includes Amazon Redshift and ClickHouse), or to customer-management tools such as Salesforce, and turns a plain-language question into a dashboard that stays current as the data changes. Each chart shows the query behind it and when its data was last refreshed.

According to the company, asking questions about company data has usually meant filing a ticket with the data team or writing SQL queries. Anthropic pitches it for quick, exploratory questions, and for deeper analysis the dashboard can be sent to analytics tools such as Amplitude, Grafana, Hex, Mixpanel or Sigma. Looker, monday.com and Tableau will follow later.

Claude Motion, in beta on the Team and Enterprise business plans, turns a prompt into an animation that plays like a short video, can be edited and is downloaded as an MP4 file. Anthropic gives as examples turning a quarterly report into a 30-second explainer or animating a chart in a presentation. Claude writes the code that animates text, charts, shapes and images, so any word, number or timing can be changed. The company says it does not use a video generation model, so there is no generated footage and no AI-generated people. The animation can be taken further in programs such as Adobe, Descript, Luma AI or Runway.

In addition, Docs, Slides and Design, its tools for documents, presentations and design, are out of beta and available on every Claude plan, including Free. According to Anthropic, people have made more than 45 million docs, decks and designs in Claude since these tools arrived in every Claude conversation. Among what they already allow, the company lists team editing alongside Claude, sharing outside the organization if the admin allows it, exporting to PowerPoint and PDF without losing formatting, and making changes from the mobile app.

Claude Design started at its own address, claude.ai/design, and since September 16 it has also worked inside every Claude conversation. The standalone version will stay open until December 14. Projects keep working there until then, but once it closes, chats and comments left there will no longer be available, and public links to those projects will stop working.

On Enterprise plans, Dashboards and Motion are off by default and the admin turns them on, while Docs, Slides and Design will turn on by default on October 15. The announcement does not mention a separate price for any of these tools.

Why it matters · analysis and opinion

Until now, getting an answer out of company data meant asking the data team for it or writing the query by hand. Dashboards shortens that path for quick questions, and the fact that each chart shows its query makes it possible to check where every number comes from before sharing it, which is key when the person asking is not an analyst. Motion plays in a different league from video generators, because it animates existing material instead of inventing images, which reduces the risk of misleading content in internal presentations or for clients. Both are still in beta and, on Enterprise accounts, depend on the admin switching them on. Anyone whose data already sits on one of those platforms can start by testing it with questions they already know the answer to, to gauge whether what it returns can be trusted.
