T1, the Mexican e-commerce platform run by Arturo Elías Slim, has rolled out UNO, an AI assistant that acts on each business's data. The company says it can handle more than 250 tasks, such as quoting shipping or creating payment links, and asks for permission before moving money. Alongside UNO come a point of sale and an invoicing module, and the assistant is included in the free plan too.

Arturo Elías Slim, grandson of Carlos Slim and founder and chief executive of T1, unveiled UNO on Monday, October 19: the artificial intelligence assistant of this Mexican e-commerce platform.

UNO takes written instructions in plain language and has access to each business's data on sales, products, inventory, customers, shipping and invoices. The company says it can perform more than 250 actions, such as listing new products, creating payment links, getting shipping quotes or looking up data. Before any operation involving money, it asks the user to confirm. It runs on computers and phones, and T1 expects it to work over WhatsApp as well before 2026 is out.

Alongside UNO came T1 POS, a point of sale for physical stores that shares inventory with the online store and with social media sales, and T1 Finanzas, which invoices sales from every channel, marketplaces included, and uses AI to suggest the product codes required by the SAT, Mexico's tax authority. Both join T1 Tienda, T1 Pagos and T1 Envíos.

UNO comes with all three T1 plans. The free one allows 30 orders a month in the online store, 500 products and 25 invoices; Básico costs 399 pesos a month and Avanzado 1,499, VAT included, and there is also a custom Enterprise plan. T1, which according to Bloomberg Línea operates under the Grupo Carso umbrella, launched in December 2025. The company says more than 60,000 businesses in Mexico have used its services and that more than 10,000 online stores have been built with its AI store generator.

The company frames these launches as a response to how little Mexican retail has gone digital: it cites the 77 million online shoppers estimated by AMVO and the INEGI 2024 Economic Census, which finds that only one in 20 businesses sells online.

"T1 is here to digitize businesses in Mexico, for free and with artificial intelligence," Elías Slim said during the presentation (translated from Spanish), as reported by UnoTV.

Why it matters · analysis and opinion

Until now, T1's AI was mainly used to set up a store from a description. With UNO, the assistant starts handling inventory, payments and invoices, the part of the business where a mistake costs money or causes trouble with the tax authority. That is why the prior confirmation on payments is no minor detail, and it remains to be seen how it performs on tax tasks, where a wrongly suggested code also has consequences. Including it from the free plan upwards reveals the strategy: win over the small retailers that do not yet sell online and charge them once they grow. For anyone who already runs their store on another platform, the comparison will no longer be only about price, but also about how much daily work the assistant saves.
