Google unveils Gemini 4 Argon, its new frontier model, with limited access for now

In 30 seconds
Google unveiled Gemini 4 Argon, its new frontier model, on September 30, but with limited access. It is designed for long, complex tasks and raises the output limit to 1 million tokens, up from the previous 64,000. For now it is only available to a group of trusted cybersecurity defenders, and Google gives no date for opening it to everyone else.
Google unveiled Gemini 4 Argon, its new frontier model, on September 30, but with limited access.
Argon is designed for long, complex tasks: coding, business work in areas such as legal and finance, and cybersecurity defense. It raises the output limit (what the model can write in a single response) to 1 million tokens, up from the previous 64,000.
For now it is only available to a group of trusted cybersecurity defenders through Google's Fairwind program. The company is rolling it out in phases and says it will open it to developers, businesses and consumers as soon as possible, without giving a date. It will launch at an introductory price of $2 per million input tokens and $10 per million output tokens.
For a small business, nothing changes for now, because it cannot be used yet.
At InfinyAI, we think it is worth following closely and trying it as soon as it opens up, without rushing.
Why it matters
It cannot be used yet, so for now the only thing to do is follow it closely.
