ESET announced ESET AI Security, a new module for ESET PROTECT, its security platform for businesses. It protects organizations that use AI agents from malicious AI components and continuously tracks what those agents do to flag suspicious actions. ESET researchers have already uncovered threats such as PromptLock and PromptSpy, and the announcement gives no date or pricing.
On September 30, ESET, the European cybersecurity company, announced ESET AI Security, a new module for ESET PROTECT, its security platform for businesses.
The module brings two capabilities. AI Agent Security is a security layer that protects organizations using autonomous AI agents (AI programs that carry out tasks on their own) from malicious AI components. AI Behavioral Monitoring continuously tracks what those agents do, detects and flags suspicious actions and helps prevent them from turning into a security incident.
ESET says its researchers have already uncovered AI-enabled threats such as PromptLock and PromptSpy, as well as thousands of malicious "skills" for agents, the abilities that are added to them so they can do more. In addition, its ESET AI Advisor assistant is being renamed ESET LiveAI, and the company is adding an extra 40 million euros of investment in AI in 2026. The announcement does not give an availability date or pricing.
ESET itself acknowledges that many organizations, especially small and midsize businesses, are struggling to keep up with these threats and lack the right support.
We believe it is a clear signal: an agent connected to a company's email or documents is one more door that needs watching, just like a computer. Before giving it permissions, it is worth knowing which skills it has installed and who reviews what it does.
Why it matters
An agent connected to a company's data needs the same watching as a computer.
