Anthropic now processes Claude requests within India through Amazon Bedrock

Anthropic has brought local processing of its Claude models to India through Amazon Bedrock, the AWS platform for accessing and deploying generative AI models. When a customer uses the India endpoint, the prompt sent to Claude and the response from the model are processed on servers located in the country. Claude Opus 5, Sonnet 5 and Haiku 4.5 are available.
Requests to Claude can now stay within India.

According to Irina Ghose, managing director of Anthropic India, financial institutions, government bodies and large enterprises had been asking for it because of regulatory and data-handling requirements. Ghose believes local processing could allow deployments that were waiting for this option to move ahead.
