Webex, Cisco's teamwork tool, will soon add Claude Managed Agents, designed to analyze, recommend and act based on what the group already shares. Cisco is also adding agents that join calls, meetings and spaces to chain tasks inside Webex and in other apps. RoomOS 27, the new system for its room devices, ships in November and opens them up to Google Meet.

At its WebexOne 2026 event in Austin, Texas, Cisco announced that Claude Managed Agents (managed AI agents from Claude) are coming soon to Webex, its collaboration suite. According to the company, they will turn shared team context into deeper analysis, recommendations and coordinated action across approved agents, without leaving Webex.

Cisco also introduced collaborative AI agents that can be invited into spaces, meetings and calls to carry out multi-step work across Webex and third-party applications. The company gives an example: mentioning an analytics agent in a Webex space to pull usage statistics, then asking a presentation agent to update a PowerPoint deck with those numbers.

In the same announcement, Cisco said Webex will bring its context into dots, from OpenAI, through an integration based on the Model Context Protocol (MCP), and that dots will later also be available inside Webex. The company says it brings identity, security, governance and visibility together so organizations can control what AI can access and what it can do.

Cisco also unveiled RoomOS 27, the operating system for its collaboration devices, which will be available in November. Among its new features, through a new partnership with Google, Cisco devices support Google Meet natively, alongside Webex, Microsoft Teams and Zoom.

Cisco has not given a specific date for the arrival of Claude agents in Webex.

Why it matters · analysis and opinion

Cisco wants AI assistants to stop waiting for one-off questions and start working inside the team's conversation, with access to what has already been discussed and sharing the work among themselves. For companies that use Webex, the advantage would be not having to copy information from one program to another to ask for a report or a presentation. The flip side is control: the more agents can do, the more it matters to decide what data they see and what actions they are allowed before turning them on. Details are still missing to judge it properly, such as the arrival date, the price or which agents will be approved at first. The new system for its rooms points in another direction: meeting devices no longer force customers to commit to a single video calling platform.
