Spanish company Magnific launches One, an AI that makes composition, lighting, camera and style decisions for you

Magnific has rolled out One, a system that first settles the visual approach of each image and only then generates it. Draft returns batches of 8 or 16 options at the cost of one, and Final delivers the result in 2K or 4K. Brand Kit pulls the logo, colors and typography of each brand from a website or a PDF, and One can already be used on any paid plan.

Spanish company Magnific, formerly Freepik, based in Málaga, has launched One today, an AI image tool that aims to act as an art director.

One analyzes the prompt, the styles and the references and defines how the image should be built before generating it. The company makes clear that it has not trained a new generative model: its own technology lies in everything surrounding the generation. It has two modes: Draft, for exploring, which generates grids of 8 or 16 images for the price of a single generation, and Final, for the finished image in 2K or 4K with up to five reference images.

In addition, Brand Kit extracts a brand's logo, color palette and typography from a website, a brand guidelines PDF, a few images or a written description. The team reviews that first version before applying it in Final, where each result is checked against those rules.

Magnific explains that with every major model change, teams may be forced to relearn how to write prompts, and that many AI-generated images end up looking alike. With One, the company wants to reduce dependence on any specific model and open up more visual directions. In the company's press release, Martin LeBlanc, Chief Experience Officer at Magnific, argues that most image models are very good at making the picture they are described, while One makes the one that would have come out with a good art director in the room.

It is already available on all Magnific paid plans worldwide: on the web, in the desktop and mobile apps and through the Magnific MCP. It uses the platform's credits, from 180 for a High generation in 2K to 1,000 for a Max one in 4K, according to figures Magnific gave Xataka. Between October 8 and 15, the Premium+, Business, Pro Starter and Pro plans get unlimited generations, under the terms of the promotion.

To fine-tune the result, Auto Layers splits the image into editable layers, and work can continue in Designer or in Figma and Photoshop through the platform's plugins. Magnific was founded as Freepik in Málaga in 2010, took its current name in 2026 and says it has more than one million paid subscribers, with offices in Málaga and San Francisco.

Why it matters · analysis and opinion

Magnific's move points to where competition in generated imagery is shifting: not to who has the most powerful model, but to what is built around it. If art direction lives in its own layer, the company can swap the engine underneath without its customers having to relearn how to ask. For agencies and marketing departments, the appeal lies in exploring many options without paying for each one and in pieces that respect the brand's identity. What has not been seen yet is the result in the hands of real teams: whether the proposals really come out varied and whether the brand check catches the mistakes a person fixes today. The higher plans have a week of unlimited generations to find out.
