Gemini adds a library of interactive scenes for studying a topic level by level, from the planet down to atoms. Google opens it from the student space and plans to bring it into conversations soon, with audio narration to follow. The feature works fully in only some languages; in the rest, Spanish included, it is English-only for now.
Google announced on October 28 that the Gemini app now includes a library of immersive explorations: visual scenes for studying a subject in layers, from microscopic systems to deep space, according to its blog.
For now they are opened from the Gemini hub for students, using the button labelled "Try immersive explorations". Google says they will soon also be available inside a conversation with the assistant.
The examples it cites include the trade routes of the Silk Road, the inside of a jet engine and the physics of lightning. Each scene unfolds into interactive, guided experiences: tapping a label moves down a level, from the scale of the planet to molecules and atoms. Google adds that audio narration to accompany each layer will come later.
The feature is available to all users in French, simplified Chinese, Hindi, Indonesian, Brazilian Portuguese and English. Anyone using another language, Spanish included, gets the English-only version for the time being; Google promises more languages soon.
Why it matters · analysis and opinion
The announcement shows where Google is taking its assistant in education: from answering questions with text to offering a visual walkthrough that the student steers by tapping. For anyone who teaches or trains teams, the potential advantage lies in explaining processes with many levels, such as a machine or a physical phenomenon, without preparing their own material. But there are visible limits. In Spanish the experience is, for now, English-only, which affects its use in a classroom or in internal training for Spanish speakers. It is also not stated when narration and access from the chat will arrive, or how accurate the scenes are, something worth checking before relying on them. In the meantime, the sensible step is to try it on a familiar topic and judge whether it explains better than the current material.
